Online Education: Certification and Training Programs in St. Louis
Midwest Institute understands that not every student learns in the same way or has the availability to take classes regularly at our St. Louis campus. Additionally, some people require more personalized attention or work at a different pace than their classmates. To help meet the needs of each one of our students, MI offers online training options for certain programs.
The Benefits of Online Education
The biggest advantage of an online program is having your classroom and lesson available 24 hours a day. You get everything you need just by going online. That means you can check announcements, access notes and program resources, review assignments, discuss questions in the online discussion boards, chat with fellow students, and study online, any time you want. When you participate in online education, you are able to enhance your learning experiences thanks to the following benefits:
- The ability to work at your own pace
- Promotion of life-long learning
- Increased self-discipline
- More individual attention
- The classroom comes to you
Online Education the Way That Works Best for You
Certain academic courses are just as effective through online training as in a classroom setting. As long as you have a computer and internet access, you can get the education you need with our online classes.
Full and Hybrid Online Training
Depending on the career path you choose, you may be able to take the entire certification course without coming to either of our campuses in St. Louis. If that is not the case, you might still be able to do some online training as a component of your curriculum in a hybrid program.
Hybrid programs blend both traditional classroom instruction with the flexibility of online learning. These programs have the same academic regimen as our on-ground programs. Students in the hybrid format will complete their education both in a campus and/or clinical setting (all lab times are arranged in advance) and online. This provides a flexibility not available in a regular classroom program.
Online Training Programs Available at Midwest Institute
While not every certification can be achieved without hands-on experience, Midwest Institute’s Medical Assisting and Healthcare Information Specialist programs have instructor-led online components that are just as effective training students as a teacher in a classroom. The Medical Assisting Program mixes online education with interactive experiences, while the healthcare information specialist training is all online. Both programs are accredited and will set you up for success in your chosen field.
Medical Assistant Online Program
The Midwest Institute hybrid Medical Assisting Program will prepare you to work with doctors and nurses in a highly rewarding career. Certification is achieved through attendance at in-person classes on either one of our St. Louis campuses, as well as participation in online courses that supplement the hands-on curriculum. For more information on this certification course and the career, take a look at our Medical Assisting Program page.
Healthcare Information Specialist Program
The program for those looking for front office certification with coding and billing training can be done completely online. After completing education entirely in a virtual classroom, students can go to work in an administrative position in a hospital or medical office right away. If you are interested in this type of career, review our Healthcare Information Specialist program page.
